Goodwill Celebrates 90 Years

For 90 years, Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit has led the region's ongoing battle against unemployment. Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit estimates it has served nearly 1 million clients and placed almost 90,000 individuals into jobs over its 90 year history. These Metro Detroiters have benefited from the nonprofit organization's employment training, education, support and job placement programs.
In 2010 alone, Goodwill worked with more than 900 Detroit area employers to place 1,420 people into jobs.  As Goodwill continues to grow and evolve, it looks forward to many more years of transforming lives and the region's economy by helping Metro Detroiters become "trained, trusted and ready to work" (http://bit.ly/rs4t4P).

  1. Wow, I didn't know that Goodwill has been around for so long. I also didn't know that they started in Detroit. Greater Detroit needs all of the help it can get in these tough times. Here's to hoping that Goodwill is around for another 90 yeasrs!

  2. I recently read that Goodwill of Greater Detroit was named Crain's best managed non-profit for 2011. This is great news and will do wonders for the future of the company. Some people are hesitant to donate if they feel an organization will waste money. Crain's has a large following and this could mean great things for the future of the organization. I think what they do is great and hope like Caleb they have another 90 years serving the people of Greater Detroit.
