Habitat Detroit Transforming Neighborhoods

Habitat for Humanity founded in 1977 is an international non-profit, Christian-based organization whose mission is to provide low-income families with decent, affordable housing in which they can raise their families. Vison 2020 is one of Habitat for Humanity's recent programs.

The Vision 2020 initiative has four major goals:

1.    · Enhance the economic and cultural vitality of the neighborhood/community environment.

2.   · Develop residents’ capacity for effective local governance.

3.   · Eliminate substandard housing and improve the neighborhood’s physical conditions.
